Linda: I’d also like you to write letters of apology to all of them.
Sam: That’s the least I can do. How about treating them to lunch as well?
Linda: Even better, but not *on the company dime.

EZ 好用句型 Tongue-tied No More
◎get around to… 得以（做某事）
這是一個口語用法，表示「找到時間處理（某事）」。要注意這邊的 to 是介系詞，所以 get around to 後面要接名詞，如果是一個動作，就得是 Ving 的形式。
A: Did you fix the kitchen faucet?
你修理廚房的水龍頭沒？
B: No. I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
沒，我還沒空處理。
◎That’s the least I can do. 這是我最起碼能做的事。
這是很客氣的一句話。課文對話中用在賠罪的場合，表示「這絕對是我該做的事」。若是你幫忙別人之後受到感謝，也可以用這句話表示「我只是略盡棉薄之力」。
A: Thanks for giving me a ride.
謝謝你讓我搭便車。
B: Hey, you treated me to lunch. That’s the least I can do.
嘿，你請我吃午餐耶。那是我最起碼能做的事。

my hands are tied 愛莫能助
my hands are tied 字面上的意思是「雙手被綁住」，手被綁住當然就啥也做不了，只有在旁邊乾著急的份。下次有人跟你求助，你沒辦法（或是不想）幫忙時，就可以雙手一攤說聲 my hands are tied。
A: Can you give me a discount?
可以給我一點折扣嗎？
B: Sorry. I’d like to, but my hands are tied.
抱歉。我很想，但我沒辦法。
