whites, which gather there to feed on seals. When they arrive, the 2)crew throws rotten fish in the water to attract the sharks. Soon enough, a great white appears, and Ron puts on his 3)scuba gear and enters the shark cage. “Don’t worry,” says the captain. “It’s only a small one.” “If this one’s small, what’s big?” asks Ron. Until another arrives to answer the question. By the time the cage is lowered into the water, there are three whites, and Ron is amazed by their size and speed. When the day is over, he’s seen six—enough for a lifetime of memories…and 4)nightmares!

A hundred years ago, the Murray River was a bustling highway, with paddle steamers carrying goods from upriver to the port of Melbourne. Today, memories of those times linger in river towns like Echuca. “I absolutely love a town that embraces its history, and Echuca certainly does that,” says host Scotty McRae. He starts off with a ride on the P.S. Hero, a restored steamer that’s available for private charter, weddings and other events. Afterwards, Scotty visits the cosy Steampacket Inn and 11)takes a stroll along the wharf, admiring the historic buildings and old 4)carriages. Ready for something more exciting, he heads over to Brett Sands Watersports for a little 5)waterskiing. “It doesn’t matter if you’ve never even tried waterskiing before,” says Scotty.

Echuca 伊丘卡

He takes a tour first, though, where he learns why the local oysters are so good. According to the tour guide, the mild, clean waters of Merimbula Lake are the perfect environment for growing Sydney rock oysters. “They’re the sweetest, the Rolls-Royce of oysters,” boasts the guide. Scotty ends his day—and the episode—with a huge plate of delicious oysters.
